MOF adsorbents for flue gas separation: Comparison of material ranking approaches

چکیده
Adsorbent performance evaluation metrics such as selectivity and regenerability that can be computed from the results of molecular simulations are widely used to identify most promising metal organic frameworks (MOF) for separation CO2/N2 mixture. Parasitic energy is recently offered rank MOFs comparing cost-effectiveness an adsorption-based process. In this work, we performed Grand Canonical Monte Carlo 1661 compute mixture adsorption data then calculated selectivity, working capacity, adsorbent score (APS), (R%) parasitic energy. were ranked following two different approaches, one based on a combination APS R%, other Results showed many common in top 100 adsorbents list but rankings significantly differ since materials offering low do not necessarily have high R%. These will provide important insights into ranking large number efficient identification flue gas separation.

Molecular Simulation Studies of Flue Gas Purification by Bio-MOF
As a new branch of MOFs which are composed of biocompatible metal ions and organic ligands, bio-metal-organic frameworks (bio-MOFs) have attracted much attention recently. Bio-MOFs feature multiple Lewis basic sites which have strong interaction with CO2 molecules, thus they have great potential in the separation and purification of gas mixtures containing CO2. In this work, molecular simulatio...
متن کاملSolvent Formulation for CO2 Separation from Flue Gas Streams
CO2 separation using reactive solvents is considered to be a technically viable option for capturing of CO2 from flue gas streams. However, the cost of CO2 capture using conventional solvents such as aqueous solutions of monoethanolamine (MEA) is prohibitively high. Nearly half of the total cost is due to operational costs, of which about 70 to 80% can be contributed to the cost of regeneration...
متن کاملSynthesis and Transport Properties of Novel MOF/PIM-1/MOF Sandwich Membranes for Gas Separation
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were supported on polymer membrane substrates for the fabrication of composite polymer membranes based on unmodified and modified polymer of intrinsic microporosity (PIM-1). Layers of two different MOFs, zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) and Copper benzene tricarboxylate ((HKUST-1), were grown onto neat PIM-1, amide surface-modified PIM-1 and hexamethylene...

Flue gas conditioning (FGC) systems offer an effective option for control of Particulate Matter (PM) emissions and enhances the performance of the Electrostatic Precipitators (EPs) when using coal of different properties. The increasing environmental awareness and the mandate of the Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) in various countries to thermal power stations using coal-fired boilers f...
متن کاملFlue Gas Cooling
When waste heat is not utilized, cooling of flue gases in special cooling chambers becomes necessary, if the dust':'collecting and associated equipment is constructed of metal. The two most common methods of cooling are by dilution with ambient air, and by evaporation of water in the gas stream. Usually, they are combined. Load sharing depends largely on acceptable visibility of stack effluvia ...
